Possible Upgrades

Home Automation
Not only can you have all the above features from one box but imagine controlling your Lights, Security System, Cameras, and Heating and Air all from one remote. These custom built servers allow for Home Automation add-ons at the time of purchas or in the future.

Multiple Feeds
One box has the ability to run multiple TVs at the same time. Imagine dad watching a DVD in the family room while the son is watching another DVD in his bedroom. Meanwhile mom is going through her pictures on her kitchen TV, and the daughter is listening to her favorite CD on the server in her room. One HC Media server can have the ability to feed multiple rooms with all the different services available-- simultaneously.

Q and A

Q: What happens to all the stored files if the hard drives fail?

A: Every machine is built with a RAID 1 Configuration on the hard drives so you never have to worry. If one drive fails, they back each other up. It’s easy to replace the failed drive and you will have lost no data.

Q: What about service and support?

A: As part of the purchase you will receive one year of scheduled maintenance to do critical Windows updates and any other software updates to keep your HC Media Center running smoothly. You will also recieve 10% off all future service calls after the first year for any other type of service you may need with the HC Media Center.

Q: Where do you put the HC Media Center?

A: The HC Media Center will typically replace your existing DVD player on your main HDTV; however, we can also it set up in almost any cool, dry, safe place, such as a closet or unfinished basement. From there we will distribute High Definition signals to every TV in your house. You will have a small, discrete sensor attached to the front of your TVs; other than that, you will not see any wires or boxes anywhere in your house. Ask an HC representative for a free in-home consultation.

Q: How will I listen to stored music through out my house?

A: The HC Media Center is compatible with home audio systems, such as SONOS. With these systems, we can give you one controller to access your stored music anywhere in your house.

Q: What about High Definition through the HC Media Center?

A: The HC Media Center supports High Definition resolutions from 480i to 1080P; however, the Media Center is only capable of one resolution at a time. At this time Home Connections only supports 1080P Content in one room scenarios. If you are distributing the Media Center on multiple TV’s, we use 720P or 1080i outputs so every HD set throughout the house can share the signal. However, the up-conversion of the Media Center is so great with the nVidia PureHD video processing we use, you are hard pressed to see a difference between 1080P and 1080i resolutions. We would never normally say that but this machine has amazing processing. Down converting a Blue ray to 1080i or 720p still looks fantastic.

Q: Isn’t this illegal? *

A: Absolutely not. The law states that you may store your own software digitally, wheter that’s PC, music or movies.

*Upon purchase, there is an agreement you sign to not steal music or movies. This machine is intended to simplify your life by storing your own store-bought media and put it in one place. We do not encourage or condone in anyway pirating or stealing rented or borrowed media. According to U.S. copyright law, you could be fined up to $30,000 (this fine can vary by country). Your home computer and/or Media Center and associated files and discs could be confiscated. Above and beyond this, the company you stole the software, music, or other media from could sue for additional damages above and beyond the government fine.
